In Architecture, MassArt, Solar Decathlon on September 23, 2011 at 9:56 am

You might know that I’m the photographer and blogger for Team Massachusetts in the Solar Decathlon. Think to yourself, would you live in a house like this? Then go vote for Team Massachusetts: http://www.solardecathlon.gov/poll/pca/pca_register.php

Paper | 9-11 Memorial Installation on View Now

In Gallery Shows, MassArt, Video on September 7, 2011 at 2:16 pm

I just finished installing “Papers” in the North Crackertorium at MassArt yesterday, in collaboration with animator, Brian Bliven. It’s an abstraction of my experience of that day; what I witnessed on a street corner of Brooklyn from my mother’s apartment. It will be on view until September 17th. For more information about the project, go to: juliechen.net/paper.

Keeping Track of Team Massachusetts

In Architecture, MassArt, Photography, Solar Decathlon, Technology, Video, Volunteerism on September 7, 2011 at 7:49 am

The Solar Decathlon 2011 is the reason why I haven’t updated my blogs since May. As the Team Massachusetts documentarian (Photographer and Social Media Coordinator) I have been following their construction progress in Boston, and at Epoch Homes in NH. I bought an intervalometer for time-lapse photography. This is the most popular of our time-lapses. It’s the assembly of the house modules.

May Madness

In Events, Flash, Fun, Interactive, MassArt, Music, Video on May 9, 2011 at 3:10 pm

My facebook has been abuzz since I posted the MassArt Fashion Show photos that I was hired to take. Multiple tags and comments every half-hour: Voltage 2011: MassArt Senior Fashion Show

Tonight, I take off my photographer hat, and put on the performer hat, when I join my Beat Research classmates for a show in the Enormous Room in Cambridge from 9PM to 1AM. Music videos and interactive beats. I will be playing a Chinese lute rigged with a number pad, linked to visuals in Flash. You just have to see it. Beat Research.

Busy v2.0 at Pecha Kucha 22

In Architecture, Career, Events, Fun, MassArt, Photography, Solar Decathlon on April 11, 2011 at 10:18 am

It’s been two months since I’ve had the chance to update this blog. Tonight you will find out why in my second presentation for Pecha Kucha Boston. This time the venue is in Cambridge, at the Oberon Theater. I will cap-off the night by talking about the great new things I’ve been experiencing and pursuing in the Studio for Interrelated Media at MassArt for the past year. Here’s more about tonight’s event: http://pechakuchaboston.org/22/

Overload

In Architecture, Events, Gallery Shows, MassArt, Solar Decathlon on February 11, 2011 at 5:45 am

This Spring Semester started-off with returning from NAHB IBS 2011 with our Solar Decathlon team, and working on the usual print and web tasks. Then I had both of my proposals accepted by the MassArt Student Life Gallery, “TEXT” and “Defense”. I was asked to come to the MassArt Freshman fair to represent the Studio for Interrelated Media. Just found out this week two of my proposals to the Children’s Museum‘s May Asian Pacific show were accepted. All the while, I have a full course load in Illustration, Choreography, Beat Research, Studio, and the Team Massachusetts Social Media Posts. Wish me luck (I’ll need it).
